Philip Winterbottom

Confidence inspiring trainer, qualified and experienced Psychiatric Nurse (RMN) and Manager (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management).

 

In addition to being the Director of and managing Winter&Griffin Ltd, providing training services, consultancy and quality auditing, Philip also works for the Priory Group where he undertakes the following roles:

 

- Regional Safeguarding Lead 

- Designated Safeguarding Lead  for Adults

- Designated Safeguarding Lead for Children

- Safeguarding Trainer

- Risk Assessment Training and Education (RATE) Trainer

- Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) Trainer

- Care Plan Champion

- Mental Capacity Act and DoLs Lead and trainer

- Psychiatric Nurse

 

Since starting work in mental health in 2003, Philip's experience ranges from: working as a Healthcare Assistant in Acute Admissions where he was then seconded to undertake his Registered Nurse training, then working his way up to Service Manager for a Supported Living service for adults with chronic and enduring mental health problems.

 

He  has a passion for delivering training and developing the staff he works with as well as supporting service users with a person centered approach. He believes that supporting staff to improve their practice facilitates the development of a motivated, happier and skilled team that provides better evidenced-based care and support for patients.

Rebecca Griffin

Rebecca Griffin BSc (Hons) is the Winter&Griffin company Secretary and provides consultation services for the domestic abuse training offered, she offers a unique perspective: with a degree in Psychology and having worked with both the high risk victims and also the perpetrators of domestic abuse.

 

Rebecca worked for Womens Aid where as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) providing short to medium-term specialist case work to high-risk victims of domestic violence.

 

She also has several years experience working for the HM Prison Service as a Healthy Relationship Programme Facilitator where she delivered accredited high intensity and moderate intensity domestic violence programmes to offenders as a therapeutic approach to rehabilitation and delivers Domestic Abuse training to colleagues.

Associate Services

Associate training and consultancy services are offered through SAB Training and Consultancy, Winter & Griffin work with SAB  as we believe the quality of the training is due to the extensive knowledge and experience in the sector, coupled with a passion to develop services and individuals to effect real change for service users.

Sally Ann Bolton, Managing Director of SAB Training and Consultancy, has a 35 year history of working across the health, social care, voluntary and independent sectors.


Sally held a senior training and consultancy role with the NSPCC as well as previous positions as a Training Manager for various Voluntary and Private organisations, Local Authorities and an LSCB. She is a qualified nurse, health visitor, educator and therapist.


 Her particular interests include the provision of supervision training, Training for Trainers and courses that explore the interplay between parental issues and outcomes for children.
